On November 19-21, 2009, «M2M telematics» in partnership with JSC «Russian Space Systems» and Federal network operator JSC «Navigation and Information Systems» presented innovation projects based on GPS and GLONASS at the Third International Exhibition «Transport of Russia 2009».

The event dedicated to the 200-th anniversary of the transport agency and transport education in Russia was held at the Central Exhibition Hall «Manege».

The stand of «M2M telematics» was visited by Igor Levitin, Minister of Transport. General Director of «Navigation and Information Systems» and «M2M telematics» Alexander Gurko told the Minister about prospects of GLONASS in the transport sector of Russia and the benefits of implementation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). The subject matter was implementation of «M2M telematics» projects based on GLONASS, in particular Sochi Fleet Management and Dispatch system and Intelligent Transportation System of Dubna. Visitors to the stand of «M2M telematics» were able to see in a real-time mode the potential of the implemented projects based on GLONASS technologies.

Fleet Management and Dispatch system of Sochi, focused mainly on upgrading transportation infrastructure of the city in anticipation of the Winter Olympic Games 2014, allowed enterprises to reduce fuel consumption by 25% and to improve the environmental conditions of the city.

As a result of ITS implementation in Dubna, efficiency of public transport and engineering utilities has increased; quality of passenger transportation services has improved as well. Among many other guests of honor chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Russia Gennady Zyuganov visited the joint stand of «M2M telematics».

«The authorities of RF subjects showed obvious interest to implementation of Intelligent Transportation Systems, including both branch navigation and information systems and traffic management systems. We, in turn, held a series of talks with business representatives and various ministries, including regional ministries of transport», said Alexander Gurko.
