During the meeting of the Presidium of the Russian Federation State Council held yesterday in the city of Ulyanovsk, the results of fulfilled projects on deployment of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) based on GLONASS were presented to Dmitry Medvedev, the President of Russia.

In the course of presentation, General Designer of GLONASS, General Director - General Designer of "Russian Space Systems" JSC Yury M. Urlichich shared examples of successful work carried out in various Russian cities, including Dubna, near Moscow, Norilsk and Olympic Sochi.

Yury Urlichich drew particular attention of the President to a high social value and economic efficiency of ITS which was developed by “M2M telematics” holding group. The intelligent system allows fast coordination and improves quality of work for all types of public transport as well as informs all road users on transport service management.

“GLONASS ERA” project, a system of emergency response in case of road accidents based on multifunctional receivers produced in Russia, an analog of the European e-Call, was also presented to the President.

According to Alexander Gurko, General Director of “Navigation and Information Systems” and “M2M telematics”, the President appreciated results of work of both companies, efforts of Russian experts  in development and serial production of hardware based on GLONASS as well as mass results of deployment of domestic navigation systems in Russia.
