M2M telematic – Simbirsk Regional Control Center Was Commissioned in Ulyanovsk

A seminar on use of satellite navigation systems to the benefit of sustainable economic development of the region was organized on September 11, 2008 within the framework of the Regional Control Center opening. The seminar was held at the premises of Ulyanovsk Administration. The event was attended by representatives of the regional transport and road construction ministries, oil&gas and utility companies, ministries of health, education, natural resources and environment protection, as well as the Ministry for Emergencies, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, etc.

Andrey Tyurin, the First Deputy Chairman of the Ulyanovsk Region Government, made a welcome speech. M2M telematic representatives informed the audience on future prospects of GLONASS Russian navigation system development, as well as on the current status and development plans for M2M telematic – Simbirsk Regional Control Center. They presented the regional navigation and information system for the transportation industry to the attendees. This intellectual system is to be used by municipal authorities. The key objectives of the system are to ensure monitoring and management of various means of transport at a level of a macro region, region, city, and municipality. At the end of the seminar many participants expressed their interest in cooperation with M2M telematic – Simbirsk Regional Control Center. Currently negotiations on introduction of the system in a number of municipal institutions of the Ulyanovsk region are underway.

A few days earlier Ulyanovsk saw the opening of M2M telematic – Simbirsk Regional Control Center. M2M telematic platform based on BN™-Сomplex server software was installed, and employees of the new center received relevant consultations. M2M telematic – Simbirsk has already started promoting telematic services in the region, and negotiations with a number of major local forwarding companies are being held.
