GC “M2M telematics” took part in the exhibition “The best for children”, held in the Central Exhibition Hall “Manezh” from December 9th to 11th, 2010.
The exhibition “The best for children”, arranged in the context of the National promotion program of the best Russian products and services for children, gathered about 200 companies manufacturing child goods and services and organizations executing socially important programs in the sphere of child health, primary and secondary education and sports education of the younger generation.
At the exhibition the guests’ attention was attracted by the large-scale project “Social GLONASS”, in the context of which GC “M2M telematics” together with other participants of the project, namely, OJSC “Russian Space Systems”, demonstrated the possibilities of innovative GLONASS technologies application for the increase of social service level and life quality of socially unprotected citizens and children.
At the display of GC “M2M telematics” it was possible to become familiar with the work of GLONASS based navigation and communication equipment and specialized Web service CyberWeb®, which provides users with online tracking of location, traffic and speed of vehicles that transport children, as well as careful observance of routes which increases safety of passengers. User telematics terminals allow also to control fuel flow and unauthorized use of vehicles.
According to Svetlana Khadonova, Marketing Director of GC “M2M telematics”, the protection and safety ensuring in the transportation of children is one of the most important problems that can be effectively solved with the use of GLONASS based navigation systems. “However perfect a technology may be, it is worth nothing if it is not used to care about people and for their real benefit. It is the social component that is very strong in GLONASS, which we wanted to show during the exhibition. We hope that we managed to familiarize the guests with the technology and to give more information on its capabilities for the increase of life quality of the younger generation.”
“The project “Social GLONASS” is safety of our children and, consequently, safety of our future. We do our best so that low-income citizens, handicapped people and, of course, children could use all the benefits of civilization and have the environment we live in,” said Yury Urlichich, General Director and General Designer of OJSC “Russian Space Systems”.
The project “Social GLONASS” was launched by GC “М2М telematics” in August 2010. For the past months it has spread over Velikiy Novgorod, Ryazan, Tambov, Yekaterinburg, Altai Krai and now Primorye. User telematics terminals were installed on more than 50 vehicles that belong to Social Institutions and Social Services.
The hearing of “The problems of barrierless technosphere development with the use of the latest information and navigation technologies - the project “Social GLONASS” was conducted in the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation in September, 2010. Participants of the hearing were recommended to continue the work of public, scientific and manufacturing organizations on the project “Social GLONASS” for the purpose of its build-up as a national project and to submit the project to the Committee on Modernization and Technological Development of Economy of Russia supervised by the president of the Russian Federation.
